Project Summary

The principal target is copper and associated gold and uranium in the metasediments of the Yudnamutana Subgroup in the Adelaidean sequence of the Olary Province. The tenements are also located in the aureole of the Ordovician Anabama Granite, and are adjacent to an area of recent intense prospecting activity by other companies that resulted in the discovery of the Blue Rose copper prospect some 10 kms to the west. The historic workings of the Wadnaminga gold field are also located some 20 kms to the north west.

Initial RAB drilling of three geophysical targets was undertaken early in 2007, and anomalous copper and uranium values were returned from one locality, subsequently named the Dark Horse Prospect. Two traverses of RAB holes were drilled across this Prospect, and wide intervals of low grade copper were intersected in three holes drilled on the northern traverse line (see section below). Intervals up to 40 metres at 0.2% copper , including 6 metres at 0.57% copper, (and one metre at 271 ppm U3O8) were recorded from weathered and saprolitic material, with the three intersections interpreted to represent a shallow-dipping stratabound unit in the sedimentary sequence.

Four RC percussion holes were drilled later in 2007 to follow up these encouraging results, targeting primary mineralisation down-dip of the earlier intersections. Anomalous copper and zinc was intersected, but the broad low grade zones similar to those up dip were absent. Surface mapping and prospecting of the flat surrounding soil covered terrain has traced gossanous float along strike from the Dark Horse Prospect for over 3 kms, indicating a significant strike of prospective stratigraphy.
